Born in Johannesburg, Caroline de Rothschild studied at the Johannesburg School of Art, Ballet and Music, Paris Academe School of Art, and London College of Printing.

She later worked in graphic design and advertising in Paris, South Africa and London.

Caroline co-created The Palais des Vaches art gallery with her husband Nick de Rothschild.

Caroline's paintings are mostly inspired by the beautiful surroundings of her home in Exbury, and the many creatures they share their lives with; including a pair of much loved guinea fowl.
